Enabling Skills

ENABLING SKILLS

Fae has experience in all of the fields listed below. Please contact for details.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement & Consultation

Meaningful consultation where people are engaged through insightful questions, genuine listening, and the opportunity to be heard provides invaluable knowledge of local, lived experiences. Fae brings an ability to connect with groups, ask questions, listen carefully, and distil key messages that communities want heard.

Facilitation

Excellent and insightful facilitation are the keys to getting optimal results from a group. Whether it is ‘blue sky’ thinking, strategic planning, team building, or culture or leadership development, Fae does her homework, tailors the session to the organisation’s context, delivers with authority and empathy, and follows through.

Literature & Policy Reviews

Getting to know the best thinking about a topic, and/or understanding the broader policy context is a lot of work. Fae has distilled large quantities of information to deliver succinct summaries of policy and literature tailored to the needs of each client.

Environmental Scans

Gaining better knowledge of what’s happening now, and what may emerge, is critical for good strategic thinking, analysis and planning. Fae surveys the landscape to better understand the current situation, and uses her futures tools and skills to identify important and relevant emerging issues.

Report Writing

Working through complexity to provide accessible and clear reports is a key part of many projects. Fae has extensive experience in writing well-structured, succinct, and appropriate plain English reports using skills learnt as an editor at Oxford University Press and as a journalist.

Qualitative & Quantitative Interpretation & Analysis

Strategically analysing data and information to see where there are connections, links and ‘bigger stories to tell’ is critical to capitalising on the cost of gathering the data and information in the first place. Fae brings strategic and synthesising skills to these tasks to provide frameworks for informed decision-making.

Qualitative Research

Gathering knowledge of the local experience is important whatever the nature of the group – a team, a local government area, stakeholders and so on. Fae has developed, delivered and analysed surveys, conducted focus groups, and endured wind and rain to conduct listening posts to gather important information for decision-making.
